Our Club was founded on an emphasis of serving our community, and as such our membership is engaged in regular community service projects. Each month the Community Service Committee plans a different service project and spotlights a local organization.
February Service Project
Greater Cleveland Food Bank Hot Meal Prep
While the temperature outside may be freezing, the warmth you'll find in helping prepare hot meals for those in need is anything but cold! The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is currently looking for volunteers to help with the preparation and packing of hot meals inside their brand new and improved kitchen at the Coit Road Partner Distribution Hub. Afternoon shifts will assist with production wrap up in both Kids Café and Hot Meal Prep and daily cleaning and sanitation duties. Please note that there are some significant differences from their old kitchen, including several temperature controlled, 50 degree rooms that volunteers will regularly be working in. It is recommended you bring a sweatshirt or light jacket.
Additional Notes:
Volunteers will not be permitted to wear jewelry or nail polish while working inside of the kitchen.
Volunteers will be required to wear disposable gowns, hair nets, gloves, and masks at all times while working inside of the kitchen. All of these materials will be provided by the Food Bank.
Volunteers must be 14 or older in order to participate.
Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe/heel footwear for all of our projects.
